Mark Williams, Senior Solutions Architect at Koris365, talks about the new way of working and fast-growing demand for modern Wi-Fi upgrades.
The Next Generation of Wi-Fi for your wireless network
For companies that have recently upgraded and invested in their wireless network, the idea of needing to purchase a new and improved network system might appear unnecessary; for others, it is the perfect time to upgrade their ageing wireless LANs.
Enterprises, regardless of when their last network update was, should be seeking to upgrade their network to Wi-Fi 6. Importantly, the new standard has all the same functions you would expect from earlier standards, as well as offering backward compatibility meaning older devices can connect to new Wi-Fi 6 deployments.
What is Wi-Fi 6?
Otherwise known as 802.11ax, Wi-Fi 6 is the latest Wi-Fi standard, a substantial leap from Wi-Fi 5 and its predecessors.
Wi-Fi 6 offers advanced developments regarding device capacity, coverage, performance and security, delivering greater throughput and capacity than previous generations of Wi-Fi. Simply, not only is the latest standard faster, better, stronger, securer and more reliable, Wi-Fi 6 can provide bandwidth and capabilities that match the performance of that of ethernet cabling, yet with added flexibility. As a result, this is making Wi-Fi 6 an attractive proposition for many companies for their office connectivity.
Wi-Fi 6 technology enables the fastest wireless networks to date, with theoretical maximum speeds of around 10 Gbps versus Wi-Fi 5 Wave 2’s peak data rates of around 7 Gbps.
